Alumni Initiatives

Growing an fully functioning Alumni Association will take time. The case for it is strong. And the membership survey taken back in 2021 voiced a demand for it repeatedly, and for more support. Your Institute listened.

Highlights of the case for an alumni association:

  • act as the "voice of reality" to school board and executive staff
  • increase practice support for alumni. First efforts are better "Find A Rolfer" and the addition of modern and authentic content from alumni about rolfing, rolfing clients, and the impact of the work. Second efforts are planned for "business setup kits" that enable graduates to hit the road running, and enable alumni to boost their marketing efforts.
  • and more to come. This is your chance to initiate the kinds of projects and programs that you want to see.

There are already several initiatives underway. Contact alum@rolf.org to learn more or get involved. Also, and Alumni News e-mail will be coming shortly with more information as these unfold.

1. Alumni Committee

Forming a committee to begin the process of formalizing the Alumni Association is a key priority. Over time, the association will most likely take the form of a Board of its own. The Association will be part of a new DIFI Foundation, dedicated to fund raising and to supporting the Alumni and the Institute. This is YOUR association and will take the form you envision. If you would like to be part of this formative time, volunteer to be part of the committee. For now, it will be limited to 7 alumni and preference will be given to those with some relevant experience.

2. Web Initiative

We are re-imagining the website. The new concept is "Experience Rolfing" and you will be a critical part of the engagement with our public and potential clients.

We need alumni to partner with the web team to help build public awareness of rolfing. With some simple steps we can raise our web's effectiveness in 1) attracting, 2) engaging and 3) creating new business for your practice.

Action TWO:

please add a positive review of your DIRI experience to DIRI's Google site with feedback on how you rate your education at DIRI. Authentic ... but kind.

Action THREE:

A subweb will be dedicated to visitors, potential clients, and interested people .... a public facing and public educating part of the site: Health.rolf.org. The purpose of this initiative is inform and to motivate the public as to why they need to experience rolfing.

The Alumni association and our website team will publish appropriate member submitted content. See our new pages dedicated to case stories, client testimonials, and rolfing videos. Published content will help to raise your 'topical authority' with Google. This is an important feature of our expending practice development toolset.

3. Capturing the DIRI Story Initiative

Do you have pictures from your school days? We'd love to create a scrapbook with a photo from each year....

Action ONE:

Scan or just take a photo of the old prints with your phone and send them to alumni@rolf.org.
